Salmo de David. DE Jehová es la tierra y su plenitud; el mundo, y los que en él habitan.   Porque él la fundó sobre los mares, y afirmóla sobre los ríos.   ¿Quién subirá al monte de Jehová? ¿y quién estará en el lugar de su santidad?   El limpio de manos, y puro de corazón: el que no ha elevado su alma á la vanidad, ni jurado con engaño.  El recibirá bendición de Jehová, y justicia del Dios de salud.  Tal es la generación de los que le buscan, de los que buscan tu rostro, oh Dios de Jacob. (Selah.)   Alzad, oh puertas, vuestras cabezas, y alzaos vosotras, puertas eternas, y entrará el Rey de gloria.  ¿Quién es este Rey de gloria? Jehová el fuerte y valiente, Jehová el poderoso en batalla.  Alzad, oh puertas, vuestras cabezas, y alzaos vosotras, puertas eternas, y entrará el Rey de gloria.   ¿Quién es este Rey de gloria? Jehová de los ejércitos, él es el Rey de la gloria. (Selah.) 
Salmos 24

Al Músico principal: Salmo de David. EN ti, oh Jehová, he esperado; no sea yo confundido para siempre: líbrame en tu justicia.   Inclina á mí tu oído, líbrame presto; séme por roca de fortaleza , por casa fuerte para salvarme.  Porque tú eres mi roca y mi castillo; y por tu nombre me guiarás, y me encaminarás.  Me sacarás de la red que han escondido para mí; porque tú eres mi fortaleza.   En tu mano encomiendo mi espíritu: tú me has redimido, oh Jehová, Dios de verdad.  Aborrecí á los que esperan en vanidades ilusorias; mas yo en Jehová he esperado. Me gozaré y alegraré en tu misericordia; porque has visto mi aflicción; has conocido mi alma en las angustias. Y no me encerraste en mano del enemigo; hiciste estar mis pies en anchura.  Ten misericordia de mí, oh Jehová, que estoy en angustia: hanse consumido de pesar mis ojos, mi alma, y mis entrañas.  Porque mi vida se va gastando de dolor, y mis años de suspirar: hase enflaquecido mi fuerza á causa de mi iniquidad, y mis huesos se han consumido.  De todos mis enemigos he sido oprobio, y de mis vecinos en gran manera, y horror á mis conocidos: los que me veían fuera, huían de mí.  He sido olvidado de su corazón como un muerto: he venido á ser como un vaso perdido.  Porque he oído afrenta de muchos; miedo por todas partes, cuando consultaban juntos contra mí, é ideaban quitarme la vida.  Mas yo en ti confié, oh Jehová: yo dije: Dios mío eres tú.  En tu mano están mis tiempos: líbrame de la mano de mis enemigos, y de mis perseguidores.  Haz resplandecer tu rostro sobre tu siervo: sálvame por tu misericordia.   No sea yo confundido, oh Jehová, ya que te he invocado; sean corridos los impíos, estén mudos en el profundo.   Enmudezcan los labios mentirosos, que hablan contra el justo cosas duras, con soberbia y menosprecio.  ¡Cuán grande es tu bien, que has guardado para los que te temen, que has obrado para los que esperan en ti, delante de los hijos de los hombres!   Los esconderás en el secreto de tu rostro de las arrogancias del hombre: los pondrás en un tabernáculo á cubierto de contención de lenguas. Bendito Jehová, porque ha hecho maravillosa su misericordia para conmigo en ciudad fuerte.  Y decía yo en mi premura: Cortado soy de delante de tus ojos: tú empero oíste la voz de mis ruegos, cuando á ti clamaba.   Amad á Jehová todos vosotros sus santos: á los fieles guarda Jehová, y paga abundantemente al que obra con soberbia.  Esforzaos todos vosotros los que esperáis en Jehová, y tome vuestro corazón aliento. Salmos 31

ALEGRAOS, justos, en Jehová: á los rectos es hermosa la alabanza.   Celebrad á Jehová con arpa: cantadle con salterio y decacordio.  Cantadle canción nueva: hacedlo bien tañendo con júbilo.   Porque recta es la palabra de Jehová, y toda su obra con verdad hecha.   El ama justicia y juicio: de la misericordia de Jehová está llena la tierra.   Por la palabra de Jehová fueron hechos los cielos, y todo el ejército de ellos por el espíritu de su boca.  El junta como en un montón las aguas de la mar: él pone en depósitos los abismos.  Tema á Jehová toda la tierra: teman de él todos los habitadores del mundo.  Porque él dijo, y fué hecho; él mandó, y existió.  Jehová hace nulo el consejo de las gentes, y frustra las maquinaciones de los pueblos.  El consejo de Jehová permanecerá para siempre; los pensamientos de su corazón por todas las generaciones.   Bienaventurada la gente de que Jehová es su Dios; el pueblo á quien escogió por heredad para sí.   Desde los cielos miró Jehová; vió á todos los hijos de los hombres:  Desde la morada de su asiento miró sobre todos los moradores de la tierra.  El formó el corazón de todos ellos; él considera todas sus obras.  El rey no es salvo con la multitud del ejército: no escapa el valiente por la mucha fuerza.   Vanidad es el caballo para salvarse: por la grandeza de su fuerza no librará.  He aquí, el ojo de Jehová sobre los que le temen, sobre los que esperan en su misericordia;   Para librar sus almas de la muerte, y para darles vida en el hambre.   Nuestra alma esperó á Jehová; nuestra ayuda y nuestro escudo es él.   Por tanto en él se alegrará nuestro corazón, porque en su santo nombre hemos confiado.   Sea tu misericordia, oh Jehová, sobre nosotros, como esperamos en ti. 
Salmos 33

Salmo de David. DISPUTA, oh Jehová, con los que contra mí contienden; pelea con los que me combaten.  Echa mano al escudo y al pavés, y levántate en mi ayuda.  Y saca la lanza, cierra contra mis perseguidores; di á mi alma: Yo soy tu salud.  Avergüéncense y confúndanse los que buscan mi alma: vuelvan atrás, y sean avergonzados los que mi mal intentan.  Sean como el tamo delante del viento; y el ángel de Jehová los acose.  Sea su camino oscuridad y resbaladeros; y el ángel de Jehová los persiga.  Porque sin causa escondieron para mí su red en un hoyo; sin causa hicieron hoyo para mi alma.  Véngale el quebrantamiento que no sepa, y su red que escondió lo prenda: con quebrantamiento en ella caiga.  Y gócese mi alma en Jehová; y alégrese en su salud.  Todos mis huesos dirán: Jehová, ¿quién como tú, que libras al afligido del más fuerte que él, y al pobre y menesteroso del que le despoja?  Levantáronse testigos falsos; demandáronme lo que no sabía;  Volviéronme mal por bien, para abatir á mi alma.  Mas yo, cuando ellos enfermaron, me vestí de saco; afligí con ayuno mi alma, y mi oración se revolvía en mi seno.  Como por mi compañero, como por mi hermano andaba; como el que trae luto por madre, enlutado me humillaba.   Pero ellos se alegraron en mi adversidad, y se juntaron; juntáronse contra mí gentes despreciables, y yo no lo entendía: despedazábanme, y no cesaban;  Con los lisonjeros escarnecedores truhanes, crujiendo sobre mí sus dientes.  Señor, ¿hasta cuándo verás esto? Recobra mi alma de sus quebrantamientos, mi única de los leones.  Te confesaré en grande congregación; te alabaré entre numeroso pueblo.  No se alegren de mí mis enemigos injustos: ni los que me aborrecen sin causa hagan del ojo.  Porque no hablan paz; y contra los mansos de la tierra piensan palabras engañosas.  Y ensancharon sobre mí su boca; dijeron: ¡Ea, ea, nuestros ojos lo han visto!  Tú lo has visto, oh Jehová; no calles: Señor, de mí no te alejes.  Muévete y despierta para mi juicio, para mi causa, Dios mío y Señor mío.   Júzgame conforme á tu justicia, Jehová Dios mío; y no se alegren de mí.  No digan en su corazón: ¡Ea, alma nuestra! No digan: ¡Hémoslo devorado!  Avergüéncense, y sean confundidos á una los que de mi mal se alegran: vístanse de vergüenza y de confusión los que se engrandecen contra mí.   Canten y alégrense los que están á favor de mi justa causa, y digan siempre: Sea ensalzado Jehová, que ama la paz de su siervo.   Y mi lengua hablará de tu justicia, y de tu loor todo el día. 
Salmos 35

Al Músico principal: Salmo de David, siervo del Señor. LA iniquidad del impío me dice al corazón: No hay temor de Dios delante de sus ojos.  Lisonjéase, por tanto, en sus propios ojos, hasta que su iniquidad sea hallada aborrecible.  Las palabras de su boca son iniquidad y fraude; no quiso entender para bien hacer.  Iniquidad piensa sobre su cama; está en camino no bueno, el mal no aborrece.  Jehová, hasta los cielos es tu misericordia; tu verdad hasta las nubes.  Tu justicia como los montes de Dios, tus juicios abismo grande: oh Jehová, al hombre y al animal conservas.  ¡Cuán ilustre, oh Dios, es tu misericordia! Por eso los hijos de los hombres se amparan bajo la sombra de tus alas.  Embriagarse han de la grosura de tu casa; y tú los abrevarás del torrente de tus delicias.  Porque contigo está el manantial de la vida: en tu luz veremos la luz. Extiende tu misericordia á los que te conocen, y tu justicia á los rectos de corazón.  No venga contra mí pie de soberbia; y mano de impíos no me mueva.   Allí cayeron los obradores de iniquidad; fueron rempujados, y no pudieron levantarse. Salmos 36

Salmo de David. NO te impacientes á causa de los malignos, ni tengas envidia de los que hacen iniquidad.   Porque como hierba serán presto cortados, y decaerán como verdor de renuevo.   Espera en Jehová, y haz bien; vivirás en la tierra, y en verdad serás alimentado.   Pon asimismo tu delicia en Jehová, y él te dará las peticiones de tu corazón.   Encomienda á Jehová tu camino, y espera en él; y él hará.   Y exhibirá tu justicia como la luz, y tus derechos como el medio día.  Calla á Jehová, y espera en él: no te alteres con motivo del que prospera en su camino, por el hombre que hace maldades.  Déjate de la ira, y depón el enojo: no te excites en manera alguna á hacer lo malo. Porque los malignos serán talados, mas los que esperan en Jehová, ellos heredarán la tierra.   Pues de aquí á poco no será el malo: y contemplarás sobre su lugar, y no parecerá.  Pero los mansos heredarán la tierra, y se recrearán con abundancia de paz.   Maquina el impío contra el justo, y cruje sobre él sus dientes.   El Señor se reirá de él; porque ve que viene su día.  Los impíos desenvainaron espada, y entesaron su arco, para derribar al pobre y al menesteroso, para matar á los de recto proceder.   La espada de ellos entrará en su mismo corazón, y su arco será quebrado.   Mejor es lo poco del justo, que las riquezas de muchos pecadores.  Porque los brazos de los impíos serán quebrados: mas el que sostiene á los justos es Jehová.  Conoce Jehová los días de los perfectos: y la heredad de ellos será para siempre.  No serán avergonzados en el mal tiempo; y en los días de hambre serán hartos.   Mas los impíos perecerán, y los enemigos de Jehová como la grasa de los carneros serán consumidos: se disiparán como humo.   El impío toma prestado, y no paga; mas el justo tiene misericordia, y da.   Porque los benditos de él heredarán la tierra; y los malditos de él serán talados.   Por Jehová son ordenados los pasos del hombre, y aprueba su camino.  Cuando cayere, no quedará postrado; porque Jehová sostiene su mano. Mozo fuí, y he envejecido, y no he visto justo desamparado, ni su simiente que mendigue pan.   En todo tiempo tiene misericordia, y presta; y su simiente es para bendición.  Apártate del mal, y haz el bien, y vivirás para siempre.   Porque Jehová ama la rectitud, y no desampara sus santos: para siempre serán guardados; mas la simiente de los impíos será extirpada.  Los justos heredarán la tierra, y vivirán para siempre sobre ella.   La boca del justo hablará sabiduría; y su lengua proferirá juicio.   La ley de su Dios está en su corazón; por tanto sus pasos no vacilarán.   Acecha el impío al justo, y procura matarlo.   Jehová no lo dejará en sus manos, ni lo condenará cuando le juzgaren.   Espera en Jehová, y guarda su camino, y él te ensalzará para heredar la tierra: cuando serán talados los pecadores, lo verás.   Vi yo al impío sumamente ensalzado, y que se extendía como un laurel verde.   Empero pasóse, y he aquí no parece; y busquélo, y no fué hallado. Considera al íntegro, y mira al justo: que la postrimería de cada uno de ellos es paz.  Mas los transgresores fueron todos á una destruídos: la postrimería de los impíos fué talada.   Pero la salvación de los justos es de Jehová, y él es su fortaleza en el tiempo de angustia.  Y Jehová los ayudará, y los librará: y libertarálos de los impíos, y los salvará, por cuanto en él esperaron.  Salmos 37

RESIGNADAMENTE esperé á Jehová, é inclinóse á mí, y oyó mi clamor.  E hízome sacar de un lago de miseria, del lodo cenagoso; y puso mis pies sobre peña, y enderezó mis pasos.   Puso luego en mi boca canción nueva, alabanza á nuestro Dios. Verán esto muchos, y temerán, y esperarán en Jehová.   Bienaventurado el hombre que puso á Jehová por su confianza, y no mira á los soberbios, ni á los que declinan á la mentira. Aumentado has tú, oh Jehová Dios mío, tus maravillas; y tus pensamientos para con nosotros, no te los podremos contar: si yo anunciare y hablare de ellos, no pueden ser enarrados.   Sacrificio y presente no te agrada; has abierto mis oídos; holocausto y expiación no has demandado.  Entonces dije: He aquí, vengo; en el envoltorio del libro está escrito de mí:  El hacer tu voluntad, Dios mío, hame agradado; y tu ley está en medio de mis entrañas.  Anunciado he justicia en grande congregación: he aquí no detuve mis labios, Jehová, tú lo sabes.  No encubrí tu justicia dentro de mi corazón: tu verdad y tu salvación he dicho: no oculté tu misericordia y tu verdad en grande concurso.   Tú, Jehová, no apartes de mí tus misericordias: tu misericordia y tu verdad me guarden siempre.   Porque me han cercado males hasta no haber cuento: hanme comprendido mis maldades, y no puedo levantar la vista: hanse aumentado más que los cabellos de mi cabeza, y mi corazón me falta.  Quieras, oh Jehová, librarme; Jehová, apresúrate á socorrerme.  Sean avergonzados y confusos á una los que buscan mi vida para cortarla: vuelvan atrás y avergüéncense los que mi mal desean.   Sean asolados en pago de su afrenta los que me dicen: ¡Ea, ea!   Gócense y alégrense en ti todos los que te buscan; y digan siempre los que aman tu salud: Jehová sea ensalzado.  Aunque afligido yo y necesitado, Jehová pensará de mí: mi ayuda y mi libertador eres tú; Dios mío, no te tardes.  Psalm 40

GRANDE es Jehová y digno de ser en gran manera alabado, en la ciudad de nuestro Dios, en el monte de su santuario.   Hermosa provincia, el gozo de toda la tierra es el monte de Sión, á los lados del aquilón, la ciudad del gran Rey.   Dios en sus palacios es conocido por refugio.   Porque he aquí los reyes de la tierra se reunieron; pasaron todos.   Y viéndola ellos así, maravilláronse, se turbaron, diéronse priesa á huir.  Tomólos allí temblor; dolor, como á mujer que pare.   Con viento solano quiebras tú las naves de Tharsis.  Como lo oímos, así hemos visto en la ciudad de Jehová de los ejércitos, en la ciudad de nuestro Dios: afirmarála Dios para siempre. (Selah.)  Esperamos tu misericordia, oh Dios, en medio de tu templo.   Conforme á tu nombre, oh Dios, así es tu loor hasta los fines de la tierra: de justicia está llena tu diestra.  Alegraráse el monte de Sión; se gozarán las hijas de Judá por tus juicios.   Andad alrededor de Sión, y rodeadla: contad sus torres.   Poned vuestro corazón á su antemuro, mirad sus palacios; para que lo contéis á la generación venidera.   Porque este Dios es Dios nuestro eternalmente y para siempre: él nos capitaneará hasta la muerte. 
Salmos 48

EL Dios de dioses, Jehová, ha hablado, y convocado la tierra desde el nacimiento del sol hasta donde se pone.   De Sión, perfección de hermosura, ha Dios resplandecido.   Vendrá nuestro Dios, y no callará: fuego consumirá delante de él, y en derredor suyo habrá tempestad grande.   Convocará á los cielos de arriba, y á la tierra, para juzgar á su pueblo.   Juntadme mis santos; los que hicieron conmigo pacto con sacrificio.  Y denunciarán los cielos su justicia; porque Dios es el juez. (Selah.)   Oye, pueblo mío, y hablaré: escucha, Israel, y testificaré contra ti: yo soy Dios, el Dios tuyo.  No te reprenderé sobre tus sacrificios, ni por tus holocaustos, que delante de mí están siempre.   No tomaré de tu casa becerros, ni machos cabríos de tus apriscos.   Porque mía es toda bestia del bosque, y los millares de animales en los collados.   Conozco todas las aves de los montes, y en mi poder están las fieras del campo.  Si yo tuviese hambre, no te lo diría á ti: porque mío es el mundo y su plenitud.   ¿Tengo de comer yo carne de toros, ó de beber sangre de machos cabríos?   Sacrifica á Dios alabanza, y paga tus votos al Altísimo.   E invócame en el día de la angustia: te libraré, y tú me honrarás.   Pero al malo dijo Dios: ¿Qué tienes tú que enarrar mis leyes, y que tomar mi pacto en tu boca, Pues que tú aborreces el castigo, y echas á tu espalda mis palabras?   Si veías al ladrón, tú corrías con él; y con los adúlteros era tu parte.   Tu boca metías en mal, y tu lengua componía engaño.   Tomabas asiento, y hablabas contra tu hermano; contra el hijo de tu madre ponías infamia.   Estas cosas hiciste, y yo he callado: pensabas que de cierto sería yo como tú: yo te argüiré, y pondré las delante de tus ojos.   Entended ahora esto, los que os olvidáis de Dios; no sea que arrebate, sin que nadie libre.   El que sacrifica alabanza me honrará: y al que ordenare su camino, le mostraré la salud de Dios. 
Salmos 50

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.   Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.  For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.  Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.  Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.  Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.  Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.  Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.  Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.  Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.  Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.  Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.  Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.   Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of Thy righteousness.  O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.  For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.  The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.  Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.  Psalm 51

Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.  Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.  Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.  Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.  God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.  The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:  Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.  But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.  I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints. Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?  Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.  The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.  Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;  Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.  Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD.  Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.  As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.  Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.   The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.   So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.  Psalm 58

Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.  O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.  Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.   Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in Thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of Thy house, even of  Thy Holy Temple.   By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:  Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:  Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.  They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.   Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.   Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.   Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.  They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.  The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.

Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.  I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.  I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God. They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.  O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.  Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.  Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.  I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother’s children.  For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.   When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.  I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them.  They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards.  But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.  Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.  Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.  Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.   And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.  Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies.   Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before thee.  Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.  They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.  Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.   Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.  Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.  Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.   For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.  Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into Thy righteousness.  Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.   But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high.  I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.   This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.  The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.  For the LORD heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners.  Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein.  For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.   The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein. Psalm 69

In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.  Deliver me in Thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.  Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress. Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.  By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.  I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.  Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day. Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.  For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together, Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.  O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help. Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.  But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.  My mouth shall shew forth Thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.  I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of Thy righteousness, even of thine only.  O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.  Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto Thee!  Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.  Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.  I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.  My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.  My tongue also shall talk of Thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt. Psalm 71

Give the king thy judgments, O God, and Thy righteousness unto the king’s son.  He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.  The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness. He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor. They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations. He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.  In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.  He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.  They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.  The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.  Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him. For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.  He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.  He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.  And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised. There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.  His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.  Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things. And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.  The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended. Psalm 72

 LORD, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.  Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.   Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.  Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.  Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?  Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?  Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.  I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.  Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.  Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.   Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.  Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.   Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of His steps. O LORD God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee:  Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;  For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.  I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that hath no strength:  Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand.  Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.  Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted me with all thy waves. Selah.  Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.   Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: LORD, I have called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee.  Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise thee? Selah.  Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? or thy faithfulness in destruction?  Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and Thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?   But unto thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee.  LORD, why castest thou off my soul? why hidest thou thy face from me?  I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer thy terrors I am distracted.   Thy fierce wrath goeth over me; thy terrors have cut me off.   They came round about me daily like water; they compassed me about together.  Lover and friend hast thou put far from me, and mine acquaintance into darkness.  Psalm 88

 I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens. I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant, Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah. And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints. For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD? God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him. O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee? Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them. Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm. The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them. The north and the south thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in thy name.  Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.  Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.  Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.  In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in Thy righteousness shall they be exalted.  For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.  For the LORD is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.   Psalms 89:1-18

Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in His commandments.  His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.  Wealth and riches shall be in His house: and His righteousness endureth for ever. Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.  A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.  Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.  He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.  His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.  He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.  The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.  Psalm 112

O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.  Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.  Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever.  I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.  The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?  The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.   It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.  It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.  All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.  They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.  They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.  Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me.  The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.  The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.  The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.   I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.   The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.  Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD:  This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.   I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.   The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.  This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.  Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.  Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.  God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.  Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.  O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.  Psalm 118

Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.  Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.  Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight.  Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness. Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way.   Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear.  Turn away my reproach which I fear: for thy judgments are good.  Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in Thy righteousness.  Psalm 119:33-40

Mine eyes fail for thy salvation, and for the word of Thy righteousness.  Deal with thy servant according unto thy mercy, and teach me thy statutes.  I am thy servant; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies.  It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law.  Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.  Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way. Psalms 119:123-128

Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.  Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: yet thy commandments are my delights.  The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live.  Psalms 119:142-144

My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.  Let thine hand help me; for I have chosen thy precepts.  I have longed for thy salvation, O LORD; and Thy law is my delight.  Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee; and let thy judgments help me.  I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for I do not forget Thy commandments. Psalms 119:172-176

OH Jehová, oye mi oración, escucha mis ruegos: respóndeme por tu verdad, por tu justicia.  Y no entres en juicio con tu siervo; porque no se justificará delante de ti ningún viviente.   Porque ha perseguido el enemigo mi alma; ha postrado en tierra mi vida; hame hecho habitar en tinieblas como los ya muertos.   Y mi espíritu se angustió dentro de mí; pasmóse mi corazón.   Acordéme de los días antiguos; meditaba en todas tus obras; reflexionaba en las obras de tus manos.   Extendí mis manos á ti; mi alma á ti como la tierra sedienta. ENSALZARTE he, mi Dios, mi Rey; y bendeciré tu nombre por siglo y para siempre.   Cada día te bendeciré, y alabaré tu nombre por siglo y para siempre.  Grande es Jehová y digno de suprema alabanza: y su grandeza es inescrutable .   Generación á generación narrará tus obras, y anunciarán tus valentías.   La hermosura de la gloria de tu magnificencia, y tus hechos maravillosos, hablaré.  Y la terribilidad de tus valentías dirán los hombres; y yo recontaré tu grandeza.   Reproducirán la memoria de la muchedumbre de tu bondad, y cantarán tu justicia.  Clemente y misericordioso es Jehová, lento para la ira, y grande en misericordia.   Bueno es Jehová para con todos; y sus misericordias sobre todas sus obras.  Alábente, oh Jehová, todas tus obras; y tus santos te bendigan.   La gloria de tu reino digan, y hablen de tu fortaleza;   Para notificar á los hijos de los hombres sus valentías, y la gloria de la magnificencia de su reino.   Tu reino es reino de todos los siglos, y tu señorío en toda generación y generación.   Sostiene Jehová á todos los que caen, y levanta á todos los oprimidos.   Los ojos de todos esperan en ti, y tú les das su comida en su tiempo.  Abres tu mano, y colmas de bendición á todo viviente.  Justo es Jehová en todos sus caminos, y misericordioso en todas sus obras.   Cercano está Jehová á todos los que le invocan, á todos los que le invocan de veras.   Cumplirá el deseo de los que le temen; oirá asimismo el clamor de ellos, y los salvará.   Jehová guarda á todos los que le aman; empero destruirá á todos los impíos.   La alabanza de Jehová hablará mi boca; y bendiga toda carne su santo nombre por siglo y para siempre.
